Why Big Family Stories Work
As I’ve begun work on the finale of the Heart Falls series, I keep thinking back to where it all started. Six Pack Ranch, with some unruly cowboys and a whole boatful of mischief.
One of the things readers often tell me they love about the Six Pack Ranch is the feeling of coming home. With a big family saga like SPR, every book adds another layer to that feeling.
One brother falls in love.
A cousin gets his turn.
Someone who is mentioned briefly in a book suddenly steps forward for their own happily-ever-after, and before long, the entire ranch is full of familiar faces.
That’s one of my favorite parts of writing a long running series. Every time we return, we get to see what everyone else is up to—who’s teasing who at the dinner table, which kids are causing trouble, and which cowboy is about to realize he’s in far deeper than he planned.
Because around the Six Pack Ranch, love tends to spread.
If you’ve taken advantage of SPR being in KU, here’s your heads’ up to get to the end ASAP. The books will be coming out and returning to being on sale wide mid-April. I want to have all readers get a chance to enjoy the stories, but the time for KU is coming to an end.
And when they are back wide, I hope everyone will enjoy the new covers with all the feels. They make me very happy!
