Ahhh, autumn. The falling leaves, the beautiful colours, and the sweet scent of pumpkin spice on the air.
Time to soak it in!
We’ve just celebrated Thanksgiving in Canada, and this year it meant more than ever to me. I’m in a year of transition, both career and personal, and moments like this are always a good chance to look back and see what wonderful things have been accomplished, what troubles have been dealt with, and then look the other direction for the new path to take.
I’ll share more when we do the big year in review on January 1st as usual, but for now, here’s a change you’ll notice.
Instead of sending out two newsletters a month, we’ll be going to one. It’ll still have a feature of some of my backlist books (in case you weren’t around when they released!) and some tidbits from other parts of my publishing world.
But we’ll start each one with an update from me. What I’m seeing, having fun doing, or working on—which probably won’t be words in a book for a bit.
You see, I’m taking off on a big adventure. Mr. Arend and I are headed south. Very south—we’ll be in New Zealand and other parts of the world for the winter. The travel bug hit hard when I was young, and I love the feeling of heading a new place to find beauty and new friends!
Another thing to be grateful for. The time and the health to look at the world and smile at the wonders.
For now, we’re traveling through B.C., headed to the coast before we hop on the plane. And the fall colours are doing their job to make this first part of the journey spectacular.
I hope whatever this fall is bringing you, it includes some small adventure. A walk in the falling leaves. A morning with mist on the water.
Enjoy the day.
