Tidbit: Part of the fun of writing the Takhini books are getting to slip in moments of real northern history. Not like a lecture, but location really makes a difference in these books. The hero of Silver Mine is Métis First Nations, there's mention of the Gold Rush, and the location is off the beaten trail, even for books set in the north.
