Day four and here's the confession. On my bio page it says I followed a favorite author to Samhain.
That author was Lauren Dane.
I definitely went through a werewolf stage, reading everything I could find, and one series I was thrilled to discover was Lauren's Cascadia Wolves.
This was right around the time Wolf Unbound released at Samhain Publishing, so there I went. That led to me seeing the call for submissions, and eventually getting on as an author at Samhain myself.
Of course, while waiting for Stand Off and Fated and then Trinity (and now Revelation, coming in June) I proceeded to read all the rest of Lauren's books–starting with the Chase brother's stories. And then the Christmas ones and…now her new books like the futuristic Undercover and red hot contemporary Laid Bare published by Berkley Heat.
Lauren, thanks for being an inspiration. I think part of the reason I love wolves is because of you. I slipped a little tribute to you into Wolf Flight. I wonder if any one caught it?
Today's prize is your choice of any of Lauren's Samhain ebooks.

The rules are here, but just to remind you all the contests remain open until March 30. To enter today, tell me if there's a particular author you follow no matter where they publish. Especially if there's a series that made you fall in love with them.

Wow, great contest and great prizes!
I have many authors I like and follow, but Patricia Briggs is defiantly my favorite. She is one of the greatest paranormal-romance writer, and with her it’s not all SEX-SEX-SEX (not that there is something wrong with that). I particularly liked her “Mercy Thompson” and “Alpha and Omega” books.
There are many including Lisa Kleypas, Loretta Chase, Pamela Clare and Cherry Adair.
The author that first brought me to Samhain was Lorelei James… after that I keep going back for more names…
I follow Sharon Sala it started a time travel book

There are definitely some authors I follow no matter where they publish. Shelly Laurenston, Gena Showalter, and Moira Rogers are just a few of them.
Some of my favorite authors that I’ve followed from EC to their new publishers are: Lisa Marie Rice, Sarah McCarty, Lora Leigh, Cheyenne McCray, Jaci Burton & Kate Pearce…just to name a few.
If I like the author…I will follow.
But I must add….Many times there is a significant difference when authors change publishers and their books go (main stream)… at least that is what I think you call it???
And more often than not, I’m back to searching out recommends for great hot books that don’t fit the main stream mold…”sex on page 150-175) of a 300 page novel….(as an example).
But I also understand that catering to a larger audience is where they can make a living with their work….and I want them to succeed and continue to write….It’s just that sometimes I think that what made them popular is lost in the transition.
