A few months ago I mentioned that as I’ve slowed down writing, I’ve been rediscovering how much I enjoy creating other things with my hands. So this year I’m sharing a quarterly “creation update” with you—little glimpses of the projects that have been filling my time when I’m not at my keyboard.
Spring always feels like an interesting season for creativity. On one hand, the longer days and warmer weather make it feel like there’s fresh energy everywhere. Ideas pop up like crocuses, and it’s tempting to start half a dozen new projects all at once.
On the other hand, spring is also the season when life suddenly gets busy again. There are gardens to plan, places to go, end of school events, and sunshine that insists you step outside for a while. Sometimes creativity has to fit itself into the edges of the day instead of taking center stage.
