What's been my entertainment lately

It’s been a while since I told you what I’ve been reading and what I'm looking forward to reading. So, let's dive in on that.

And when you're done, it's your turn! Because honestly, I cannot get enough recommendations. What's the best thing that you've read / listened to in the last while?

Because the beach is ahead of us and I need to be ready!

PARANORMAL

As usual, I've been jumping around between a bunch of different sub genres. I read the first three books in the Hunted Omegas paranormal series. Lots of fun with fated mates and a very intense background plot line that continues through all the books. There are two more books still to come that I look forward to later this year. Kindle Unlimited.

I also really enjoyed getting to go back into Hailey Edwards world. She has a new series called The Body Shop which has her distinctive brand of mystery in a paranormal world, and this one has an intriguing twist with main characters with talents I don't think I've ever seen before in a paranormal. Also available in Kindle Unlimited.

FAIR MARKET VALUE

Forgot to feed your goldfish before your untimely demise? Need to jot down a will? Say a goodbye? See the Grand Canyon? Then come visit us at The Body Shop, where unfinished business is our business.

Mary Frances Talbot—Frankie—is a necromancer, probably. Hard to say since she never met her parents. She can see the dead, talk to the dead, and a few other things that aren’t strictly legal. It’s fine. No worries. As long as she doesn’t get caught.

The whole not getting caught thing was going well until Samuel Harrow blew back into town wearing a Savannah Police Department uniform. He might be a witch, but he hates magic. He’s not a fan of Frankie either. Which explains why he’s her ex.

When Frankie’s less than legal side gigs result in dead vampires, she knows she’s in trouble. Big trouble. And that’s before Harrow offers to help. With him waving a Get Out of Jail Free card in her face, Frankie doesn’t have much choice but to accept.

But that doesn’t mean she has to forgive. She’ll certainly never forget him breaking her heart or turning her over to the police or… Yeah. They were doomed from the start. Something tells her this investigation will be too.

Sadie Sexton Hootchville Mysteries by Ramey James

If cozy mysteries are your jam, you need to dive into the Sadie Sexton Hoochville Mysteries. Full disclosure—these are written by a couple of very good friends of mine, but don't let that hold you back.

Hoochville is a southern town full of intriguing characters, and the backdrop is a yarn and fiber shop and a group of gal pals who are hysterically funny and ride or die friends. The third book in the series just released, and available in Kindle Unlimited.

ALPACAS AND ALIBIS

There’s no place like home… until you stumble over a body in your yarn shop.

After spending twelve years in New York City, fiber influencer Sadie Sexton didn’t expect to find herself living back in her hometown of Hoochville, Tennessee. But when her grandmother bequeaths her beloved yarn shop to Sadie and her sister Charmayne with the stipulation that they must run it together for a year, Sadie and her dog Peaches find themselves back in the small Appalachian town.

Despite the somewhat contentious relationship with her older sister, Sadie is enjoying spending time with her childhood besties and Clementine Parker, her Grandma Mae’s best friend and the woman she thinks of as her second grandmother. But the enjoyment is cut short when she finds a body in the yarn shop and the prime suspect is none other than Clem herself.

Now Sadie is on a mission to clear Clem’s name. With her besties committed to helping in any way they can, she’ll stop at nothing to make sure Clem stays out of the slammer, even if it means cozying up to the town sheriff. Who just happens to be the same boy who broke her heart over a decade ago.

No Way, Rosé by Kate Davis

Final book that I want to tell you about is a contemporary that just released that I'm really excited about. The author Kate Davis is a friend of mine who I've known for a million years, and No Way, Rosé is her first new release in a long, long time.

She and two other author friends from the wayback machine have put together a trilogy with the cutest concept, and if you like spicy, small town romance, Pour Decisions series promises to deliver.

NO WAY, ROSÉ

Could this be a second chance worth savoring?

Rosa

Don’t get me wrong – I’m thrilled that Nonna left her winery to my sisters and me, but I’m terrified, too. With Allegra and Bianca both out of the country, the responsibility falls totally on me – and what if I’m not up to the challenge? Now my ex, Jake Wright, is offering to help out, but that’s terrifying in a different way. Working side by side is bringing all those old feelings back to the surface, and I’m falling for him all over again. But does our partnership have a future, or is heartbreak on the horizon?

Jake

I’ve been away from our hometown for ten long years. Now I’m back, and working with Rosa is both the best and worst thing that’s ever happened to me. We’re saving her family winery one day at a time – and giving in to the heat between us one night at a time, too. But I’m afraid this pairing has an expiration date…

WITCHES!!

In audio, I've been listening to Wisteria Witches Mysteries by Angela Pepper. Lighthearted with some really fun twists in the stories.

Also, the series Starfall Point by Molly Harper is really good. Yes, I have fallen full force into reading and enjoying witches. I'm leaning really hard into writing my own in the future.

NEXT IN FASHION on Netflix

I'm not a huge TV watcher, but when I'm crocheting or doing something with my hands in the evening, I'll often put on a show. I've watched both seasons of NEXT IN FASHION, and i laugh every time I see an outfit and think “Oh, I'd wear that one!” and the the judges say that one is terrible. LMAO.

I've put The Lady's Companion on my To Watch list, hoping it's as fun as the trailer looks!

If you have a favourite fluffy-bunny safe series you've enjoyed, let me know, because we're always looking for safe suggestions!
