I'm getting more and more excited about release day, and it's making me think back to other days I've enjoyed the butterflies of happiness feeling. Yes, with every book that I've released, but there have been other moments.

One of them was more than a year ago now when I plucked up my courage to send Jess Dee an email to ask her a few questions about writing. I had a project I really wanted to do well with, and after reading her books I wondered if she'd be nice enough to answer my questions.

She more than answered them, she encouraged me along and now I count her as one of my best friends. Yet that first day, opening up the email she'd sent, I had butterflies the size of elephants doing the rumba in my tummy.

But even those moments have become part of the journey for me. I'm glad, with each step I've experienced, to have friends join me. Old and new.
