Some stories start because I see a scene in my head. Or a conversation in a book will let me know something about a character that I didn’t know before, and suddenly I’m curious about what’s important to them and how that’s going to impact their future.
I was in the middle of writing last year’s Christmas story when suddenly I found out Alex was planning on leaving Heart Falls temporarily. No idea that was coming! In fact, when I started writing THIS book, I still didn’t know why he’d left, other than he’d gone home for a “good reason”.
Thanks for nothing, brain.
But that not knowing meant writing the book became one fun discovery after another. Secret keys, decadent treats…and so much more. I hope you adore the journey as much as I did. Yvette’s love of shiny objects, and her fight to stand on her own two feet. Alex’s deep commitment to family, and to a future with Yvette. No matter how quick or strange that seems.
It’s time for a little holiday magic to come—yes, although it’s only August, it’s time to start thinking that way. September will be here soon enough with Alex and Yvette shining a light on the upcoming holidays.
And I think we all need a little more holiday cheer in our lives.
This cowboy has made a list—checked it twice—and she’s about to find out exactly how right they are for each other.
Cowboy Alex Thorne was a pain in quiet Yvette Wright’s side for years, but when he suddenly left Heart Falls, she missed his smart mouth and sexy smile. Now he’s back with a Christmas gift she can’t resist. A homemade advent calendar fashioned from an antique cabinet, each locked drawer full of teasing reasons why they belong together.
It took far too long for Alex to realize why he’d relentlessly poked and teased his favourite Heart Falls veterinarian, but he’s determined to make up for lost time now that he knows Yvette is the only one for him. He’ll need to convince her that in spite of their differences, they’re not headed into a holiday fling.
Christmas magic will need to be extra shiny and bright this year for these not-quite-enemies to become lovers for a lifetime—and a united force against anyone, or anything, that would tear them apart.

AUDIO TREAT!
We have a special surprise. Last year the calendar got away from us, and the audio for the holiday book wasn’t ready on time. You can now get A Hero’s Christmas Hope (today! A real Christmas in August! Lol) and then be ready for the audio for A Cowboy’s Christmas List in September!
This hero needs a holiday miracle or two—and she’s just the one to deliver.
Single father Ryan Zhao didn’t expect a ghost from his past to literally slide back into his life. His longtime friendship with Madison Joy is a pure, sweet memory, and with the holidays fast approaching, her surprise visit is perfect. Maddy’s a breath of fresh air, full of ideas and enthusiasm—and far too attractive to a lonely man like him. Best friends to lovers might be tempting, but it’s also dangerous since she’s leaving after Christmas.
Madison thrives on fixing things. If Ryan insists she stick around and bother him and his adorable daughter for all of December, she’ll do what she can to make his life brighter. Which means reviving their ugly sweater tradition, organizing a not-so-traditional Nutcracker—and fighting to keep from falling in love with her former best friend and his motherless child.
She’s already given up her dreams once to help take care of her family. No matter how much he wants her to stay, Ryan refuses to ask her to do it again for him and his little girl. Can holiday magic find a way to take these two lonely hearts from friends to forever?
