Let's start the celebration at the beginning. I discovered ebooks in January of 2008, and one thing lead to another. After reading a lot of books in a short period of time, I discovered a submission call for paranormal stories with a humorous twist. Wolf Signs became my first attempt at writing erotic romance, and the following March my first story was published.
For today's contest, I'm going to highlight a few of the first books I read in ebook. Winner of today gets their choice of one the following four books in ebook format. Remember, you have until March 30th to enter. All the rules are here.

Giving Chase by Lauren Dane
Together they find a special love—can it survive the threat stalking her?
Some small towns grow really good looking men! This is the case with the four Chase brothers. The home grown hotties are on the wishlist of every single woman in town and Maggie Wright is no exception.
Maggie has finally had it with the men she’s been dating but a spilled plate of chili cheese fries drops Shane Chase right into her lap. The sheriff is hot stuff but was burned by a former fiancée and is quite happy to play the field.
After Shane’s skittishness sends him out the door, Maggie realizes that Kyle Chase has had his eye on her from the start. Now that Shane has messed up, Kyle has no intention of letting anything stop him from wooing her right into his bed.
Despite Maggie’s happiness and growing love with Kyle, a dark shadow threatens everything—she’s got a stalker and he’s not happy at all. In the end, Maggie will need her wits, strength and the love of her man to get her out alive.
New Year's Kiss by Tielle St. Clare
All Taylor expects out of New Year's Eve is a hangover and a kiss at midnight. When her boyfriend dumps her a week before the holiday, she turns to her friends Mikhel and Zach for comfort, never expecting more than a fun evening and peck on the cheek as the New Year begins.
But as the night progresses, Mikhel and Zach seem different, almost animalistic. Definitely dangerous. And her friends are acting more like lovers. Acting like they both want her.
She knows that the time will come when she has to choose between the two men. When Mikhel offers the option of her taking both men as her lovers, Taylor doesn't know what to do. One thing for sure, no matter what she decides, it's going to be a wild ride.
Pack Challenge by Shelly Laurenston
What’s an Alpha Male to do when he meets the Alpha Female of his dreams? Step one, hide all sharp objects…
All Zach Sheridan ever wanted was to become Alpha Male of his Pack and be left alone. What he definitely didn’t need in his life was some needy female demanding his attention. What he never saw coming was the vicious, scarred female who not only demanded his attention but knew exactly how to get it.
Sara Morrighan knew this was the best she could expect from her life. Good friends. A nice place to live. And a safe job. But when Zach rode into her small Texas town with his motorcycle club, Sara knew she wanted more. She knew she wanted him.
But after one sexy encounter with her dream biker, everything is starting to change. Her body. Her strength. That new thing she’s doing with the snarling. Even her best friends are starting to wonder what’s going on with her.
But this is only the beginning. Sara’s about to find out her life was meant for so much more. And Zach’s about to find true love with the one woman who makes him absolutely insane.
Cowgirl Up and Ride by Lorelei James
Ridin’ the edge of lust is fun—until someone falls in love.
A Rough Riders book.
Goody-two boots AJ Foster has waited her entire life for her dream cowboy Cord McKay to see her as more than the neighbor girl in pigtails. Now that she’s old enough to stake her claim on him, she’s pulling out all the sexual stops and riding hell-bent for leather—straight for his libido.
Divorced rancher Cord has sworn off all women…until innocent AJ suggests he teach her how to ride bareback—and he realizes she doesn’t mean horses or bulls. Between his responsibilities running his massive ranch, missing his young son and dealing with the sexual shenanigans of his brother and cousins, Cord is more than willing to take AJ up on her offer. On a trial basis.
The fun and games tie them both up in knots. AJ isn’t willing to settle for less than the whole shootin’ match with her western knight. But for Cord, even though the sexy cowgirl sets his blood ablaze, he’s determined to resist her efforts to lasso his battered heart.
Sweet, determined AJ has the power to heal—or heel—the gruff cowboy…unless Cord’s pride keeps him from admitting their relationship is more than a simple roll in the hay.

Note I already have: Giving Chase by Lauren Dane
& Cowgirl Up and Ride by Lorelei James
My first ebook was Cherise Sinclair’s Masters of the Shadowlands:Breaking Free. I read it just this past January and am now totally hooked on ebooks and wondering why I didn’t do this sooner.
Ohh! I will have to search my brain for that one, but I am thinking it was The Sheik and the Pregnant Bride by Susan Mallery!
Soul Deep by Lora Leigh. It’s one of her Breed books and still one of my favorites.
My first ebook was Cowgirl Up and Ride by Lorelei James. I didn’t realize I was in the middle of a series at the time. It is still my favorite.
I already have this one and Giving Chase.
My first ebook was your book “Wolf Signs”…lol
My first ebook I remember was “Hold On to Me” by Linda Winfree. I fell in love with it, with Samhain and with her writing all in one day! (And maybe subconsciously with Anne’s editing, even if I didn’t know it yet. :D)
My first ebook was Taken by Anya Bast and the second was Colter’s Woman by Maya Banks and I was hooked.
Zina

I definitely remember my first ebook. It was Elizabeth’s Wolf by Lora Leigh, and I’ve been hooked on her breed stories and ebooks ever since.
I haven’t been reading ebooks very long. But I’m definitely reading more of them since I bought myself an ebook for Christmas. The first story I remember reading was early last year’s release in only ebook of Deidre Knight’s Butterfly Tattoo. I know I read a few before that, but they didn’t stand out like Deidre’s story did.
I just started reading ebooks a few months ago,but I’m still not sure what was the first one, maybe it was Private Property by Leah Braemel.
My first was Librarian by Day by Paige Tyler. And now I am hooked on ebooks and reading.
My first ebook was one I won-Lords of the Were by Bianca D’Arc. And I never once looked back on my decision to read digitally. Love ebooks (love print too-heck I just love BOOKS)
My first e-book was actually Cowgirl Up and Ride by Lorelei James! Those other three sound like great reads, have to add them to my list…
My first ebook was Aiden’s Charity by Lora Leigh I had read the first ones in print and this was only available in e-format and I just couldn’t wait for it to come out in print. I love Shelly Laurenston’s Pack Challenge it got me hooked on her books.
My first e-book was Raphael by D. B. Reynolds, I loved that book. Now I’m heavily into the ebooks – I just finished Wolf Unbound by Lauren Dane.
The first ebook I ever read was Wings of Change by Bianca D’Arc. I had the first four books int eh set in print, but that one and the newt in the series Firedrake were taunting me. I finally broke down and got the in ebook just so I wouldn’t have to wait any longer. I had won an ebook before that, but for the life of me I can’t remember which one it was.
I have been reading ebooks for about 3 years. I cannot remember the name of the first one.
It was Jaid Black’s Empress’s New Clothes. It’s been a lot of wonderful reading since!
And like some others, I do have Pack Challenge and Giving Chase.
If not the first, the first one that I can still find (from an old 2000 Peanut Press account, now on ereader.com) was The Survivalist # 1 – Total War by Jerry Ahern. There were other non-fiction before that (computer texts, mostly), but that’s the oldest fiction in my library.
Mine was Cherise Sinclair Master of the Shadowlands.
discovering Dani by NJ Walters. I have copies of all the books offered today, except for New Years Kiss.
The first one I read was Enforcer by Lauren Dane. I had just read one of her print books, fell in love and hunted down her backlist. Before that, no clue about the world of digital books!
One of the first ebooks I read was Necessary Temptation by A.D. Christopher. I do not remember when I originally went online but it was late in 2006 and I was tracking down an author. Great trip down memory lane.
My very first ebook was Hot Water by Lex Valentine! I totally got sucked in with the intro bar scene and had to buy it!
okay i cant remember the name of the book but i do remember it was from the cave and by tawny Taylor, i was thinking when i read it perhaps the cave wasn’t for me, that is till i found more by tawny, and other authors, then i was hooked on ebooks. i love the instant gratification.
“Dictated by Fate” by Fran Lee. Once you read Fran’s work, you’ll be hooked on her hottt, funny, sexy stories : )
I believe my first ebook was “I Was A Vampire Wedding Planner” by Alecia Monaco. The title got to me and the cover was, well, hot!
Oops! I forgot to say that I already have all the books except for “Cowgirl Up and Ride” by Lorelei James.
i just wante dto pipe in my very first e-book because-books r a relatively new thing for me
Lovers Talisman by Ashleigh Raine was the very first one
I can’t recall the title but the author was Tawny Weber….It was the first in a series about sisters.
I love ebooks and have them on my pc and reader.
was long ago and far away but it was the first one in the breed series. A good friend lent me her paperback of Jaid BLack The empress new clothes and I was hooked from then on. Went and got her and Lora whole backlist. Man was a cost. At least I found some of the older ones at the UBS
I think my first e-book was either one of Jaci Burton’s Ellora’s Cave titles, or Maya Bank’s Samhain titles :). Not sure. It was awhile ago. If I have to guess it probably was Bound to trust by Jaci Burton.
It got me hooked on e-books. Especially romance. Heh
My first was Dangerous by Monica Burns or one of Lora Leigh’s books, can’t remember…
My first ebook was The Assignment by Evangaline Anderson! That’s a book I’ll never forget!
I read Angel’s Pawn by Nalini Singh. It was a short story for her Guild Hunter series.
My first ebook was Beauty Tempts the Beast by Leslie Dicken
The first ebook I read was Maya Bank’s “Brazen.”
Uhhhhmmmm…I don’t have an ereader yet, But I want one badly. The trouble is…I want my cake and eat it too….That is, I love written books and audio books and was hoping I could get an ereader that held lots of both…kind of a cross between an Ipod and Kindle??? Soooo, I’ve been waiting for that perfect machine before I dive in.
But I did read my 1st book from a website on my laptop recently. It was The Ice Princess by Elizabeth Holt and it was awesome!!! And I now have a couple of books in PDF format (thanks to some great blog sites/contests) on my laptop to read. I’m dying to see if I like reading an entire book off the screen versus the printed page.
I can’t remember which e-book was my first, but I had to read them on my laptop until I got a kindle at Christmas – it’s so much better (and more portable)!
I’ve already got Laruen Dane’s and Lorelai James’ books. Thanks!
My first ebook was Brazen by Maya Banks.
The first ebook I ever read was Unwrapped by Jaci Burton, and I was amazed at how easy and quick it was to purchase ebooks. Now that I have my Sony Reader, most of my book purchases are digital 😉
I won it at a contest LASR but I don’t remember the name (but I’ve been hooked ever since on ebooks)
The first ebook I read was Chasing Sunset by Sami Lee. I chose this book after discovering the author was one of my closest friends who finally told us her secret that she was a romance writer. I then told her my secret that I read romance novels with a passion.
The contest is closed, but feel welcome to share for fun if you’d like.
