Cool Canucks, Hot Contemporaries Blog Tour

ElleViv Tour Header

November 12-23, 2012, join Elle Kennedy and Vivian Arend as we share information about our upcoming Samhain releases- Viv's ROCKY MOUNTAIN ANGEL (Six Pack Ranch #4) and GETTING HOTTER (Out Of Uniform #8)

What's it about?

Well, how about we BOTH tell you?

Elle: Can we PLEASE talk about how we “met”?

Viv: lmao. Way to start off topic. You really want people to know? You stalker

Elle: lol. Not the details! Just that I emailed you because you were Canadian and I thought we would hit it off. And we did.

Viv: I'm looking at my Samhain bookshelf…

Elle: Is that code for something?

Viv: You were one of the first Samhain authors I read. Out of Uniform…

Elle: Wow! Really? That's pretty awesome. You can thank being Canadian as why I read Rocky Mountain Heat.I was browsing for books with Canadian settings because my friend commented about how hardly any novels use them

Viv: too funny. And almost all my books are Canadian set

Elle: Your name came up a lot 🙂

Viv: Well…there's so much Canada to USE as a setting 😀

Elle: I know. The series I'm plotting out now is set in Canada. FINALLY!

Viv: Yeah!!!! *digresses into Barenaked Ladies songs* We've got…rocks and trees and trees and rocks and…

Elle: and snow and lakes!

Viv: okay, so for the next couple weeks we're going to share snippets from Getting Hotter and Rocky Mountain Angel, and tease people

Elle: and showcase our awesomely Canadian sense of humour

Viv: right. we get to ramble…like that's hard…

Elle: Notice I used the “u” in humour?

Viv: lol. very colourful addition. Do you think we need to explain the use of Duct Tape?

Elle: OK, I'm dumb. Do Americans not use duct tape? (this is a serious question)

Viv: They seem to call it DUCK tape

Elle: DUCK?

Viv: and I doubt they know of its utter importance in our lives

Elle: Honestly? If I had to pick three items like desert island style or whatever, duct tape would be one of them

Viv: that's because you're a kinky girl. OFF TO THE PRIZE LIST!

You ladies are hilarious… and of course it’s duct tape! (and pop (none of this soda business)! — Ontario representing :D) Methinks Americans refer to it as duck tape because Duck Tape is/was one of the major brands. Strangest thing I’ve done with it? Patching up a hole in the seam of my wetsuit during a scuba-diving vacation to the Caribbean. When you’re doing 3+ dives a day for 5 days, you need all the warmth you can get, haha.

I always thought is was Duck tape, but I am also a girl and don’t really care. I now know that is Duct, but I am still a girl and don’t care. LOL. Elle I love your series. I am very eagerly awaiting Book #8. I am also dying for Dylan’s story. I also for the longest time was calling the Out of Uniform series, the Hot series because all the titles have Hot in the series and they are also steamy books. 11/20 needs to come quick. Vivian is a new author for me, but definately adding to my must read/try list. I love to read and always looking for new author to check out. Also Elle, very glad that you are putting your books in print. I have them all on my kindle, but can’t share the kindle. I love giving friends my books to try and then they go devour the books. Will be following along for sure, what a fun hop. Thanks for the giveaway.

Is duck tape a major American brand? Never heard of it. I must be the exception, lol, cause my DUCT tape was always 3M. 😉

Working with a kid who loves making things like a fighter jet that he can actually fit in out of cardboard boxes… duct tape is a necessity to have around!

I’m from Kansas so I call it Duck Tape. I never realized it was “Duct” until I was an adult! an unusual thing to do with it, you can fold the duct tape in half and use it as a jump rope. Love you ladies!!

I call it duct tape and I’ve actually never heard anyone call it duck tape before. I’ve learned something new today. 🙂 I do know a few crafty types that make wallets out of duct tape.

Growing up in the south and Midwest, we always called it duck tape. I never realized it was duct until I had to buy some myself my favorite thing to do with it is to wrap presents with it. My family never knows exactly what type of wrapping they may get. The coolest thing I’ve seen done with it was in college when an art major made a dress for herself and a suit for her boyfriend for one of the homecoming dances. It was pretty cool.

I used to work in a hardware store and I bet I sold 20 rolls of Duct tape every single day for every reason under the sun. It is for sure a staple in every Canadian home…because as Red Green says ” If the women don’t find you handsome, they should at least find you handy” 😉

Duct tape of course. Growing up in the middle of the U.S., it is a mainstay of my repair kit-use it for everything. I have some hot pink that I use to make book covers (not directly on the books, mind you; I cover freezer paper with it) and cover those books I want to prottect and keep from getting dirty, stained, torn, etc.
Love these authors, and thank them for the contest.

Congrats on the start on your blog tour!
For me it is Duct Tape… one unusual thing I have seen it used for… my sister used colored ones to decorate my nephew’s wooden stick for his karate lessons… it actually came out nice.

Being from South Louisiana we call it Duck Tape, but my father-in-law calls it “MacGuyver” tape. It has gotten him out of many binds he’s gotten into in the past!

LOL! You two are just lovely! And of course it is duct tape! I do believe “Duck tape” is a brand… I’ve enjoyed both of your books, and well, I’m sorely disappointed that there are no actual cowboys or SEALs included in either prize 😉

I have always pronounced it duck tape. The major brand while I was growing up was duck and, since I was too young to read, all I knew was that tape had a little yellow duck on it!:-) not sure I’ve used it for anything to unusual. recently used it to hang spider web for Halloween though…it conveniently comes in various colors now!!

It’s duct tape— BUT, I was at the store the other day and saw a display of all the new, expensive patterned duct tape and noticed the brand was DUCK— hmmm….I did not know that. We are in Michigan though, and Canada is really close…as in we used to drive over there to party when we were teens:) Ahem…that was awhile ago since I’m 50 now. So, duct tape could be used to tape beer to the bottom of the car seat if one wanted to hide it. LOL

I think that when I was little, I probably thought it was called Duck tape, but can’t really remember that far back. As an adult, I have always called it Duct tape. We use it to keep things together.
