Libraries have always been magical places for me, offering more than just books—they’ve been a constant source of comfort and adventure throughout my life. From my earliest memories, libraries have played a vital role, no matter where I've lived.
(Do you have a favorite library story? I’d love to hear how these special places have touched your life, so feel free to share!)
As a child, I’d visit our local library every week with my family. The grand doors opened into a cool, hushed space that felt like a castle. I’d eagerly slip away to the children’s section, where special reading tables allowed a group to gather and enjoy the same book together, everyone leaning in to see the pictures.
In my school years, the library was more than just a place for books—it was a social hub where we did homework, giggled with friends, and perhaps even sneaked a kiss or two (but don't tell my husband!).
As a mom, I’d carry a basket to haul our weekly finds, participating in bookmobiles and summer reading programs. Every time we moved, one of our first stops was the new library, where my kids would excitedly search for their favorite books.
Libraries have always been a cherished part of my life, providing access to stories and entertainment, even on a tight budget. While I enjoy the convenience of an e-reader, the local library still holds a special place in my heart. I strive to make my books available through library services, and if you want to see my works on your library’s shelves, I’ve got some tips to help you make that happen.
