Help me make decision on a story idea...

If you had your choice what kind of shifter would you like to read?

– a dragon/fantasy
– a cat shifter
– a person who could shift into a bird: eagle, hawk…something like that.

I've got this work in progress that I'm just not sure what direction to head and this is the reason why.

What do you think?

Viv
I say a cat shifter – one that shifts into a jaguar or a panther. Of course I wouldn’t mind reading about some who shifts into a eagle or hawk either.

I have actually read a couple of stories in the last few days that involved birds. I was surprised I enjoyed them as much as I did. I like the idea of dragon (but in our world) and cats are always good.

Hands down: Dragon-Shifter.

I have a really big thing for dragons (maybe it stems from that I was born under the year of the fire dragon?), and you really don’t see too many dragon-shifter books.

Yeah Deborah Cooke has one, oh shoot spazzed on the other Allison James!

I would so buy a book if it had dragons

Becky- although I’ve enjoyed reading a few cat shifter stories, I personnally don’t like cats. That might make it harder to write.

Natasha- the story starts in our world but travels into an alternate world, an earth+ world. That’s why I thought dragons might work.

Raonaid- I’m leaning really heavily your way… I LOVE dragons, always have.

This is for ‘Flashflood’, which I’m planning on starting to write while on holidays in Utah in a couple of weeks.

I guess I’ll give the muse free reign and see what happens!

Before I moved to the new place, the old living room was decorated in nothing but dragons. Hubs used a projector to trace dragons on the wall and I had to paint them.

I have dragon knick knacks (mostly fiber optics), swords, etc which my current living room is decorated with. My fav has to be the plaque that has a dragon curled around the sign “Go Away”

Sounds fascinating! Are they Anne McCaffrey looking dragons or what? I don’t really like the ‘Eragron’ style with the snakelike faces and neck.

I like the St George and the Dragon Style, muscles and strength!

Ehh, I would say Dragonheart or DnD type dragons than Anne McCaffrey and Eragon.

If you don’t like the Eragron style of dragons, then you wouldn’t care for Mercedes Lackey’s Dragon Jouster dragons. They kinda put me in mind of a long necked dinosaur with wings (but the books are awesome)

I think the Oriental dragons are neat and all, but I prefer the other looks to the dragons. Dunno, I guess those look too much like a serpent in body for my taste.

I even have the Dragon Tarot cards. I’m blanking on his name but he does awesome dragons.

Ruth Thompson does too. I love Ruth’s dragons. And the dragons of that one gothic place Alchemy something. I love their dragons

Viv. I think you know I love almost any Shifter stories. The type of shifter is not as imoportant as the story driving it.

And I love ALL of yours.’

Cat shifter. I don’t especially like cats either but love Feline shifters. Jaguars and Panters.

One vote for eagle and hawk. I think yoo will be the first to write about them. Or do you know any paranormal romance with them?
