This time of year I always get to reminiscing about how I fell into writing. My first book, WOLF SIGNS, was published on March 24, 2009. If you've never heard my origin story, don't worry. I'm sure it will come up again in the future—lol.
I wanted to do something different this year. But…what?
I tried to find some other cool thing to share. Like maybe a map of where all my books are set. Or a map of where I traveled while I was writing certain titles.
A list of how many time on average over the years I've had to stop writing to let the dog out. Let the dog in. Let the dog out. Repeat.
I could tell you how I sometimes daydream about all the stories I still want to write, and I wonder how I can slow down time so I can get to them all.
Maybe the fact that I accidentally started this writing gig is part of the reason why, but I can't imagine not doing what I'm doing. I am writing less, and slower, but the stories keep coming.
Yes, I know you noticed there are less books these days. But I'm so grateful that even when there's a longer gap between books, you're still there, waiting to catch up with who ever is ready to share their story this time around.
The Colemans. The Stones. Wolfies and bears and moose shifters (…dear Lord, I did not see that one coming!) There are more adventures in the future because the power of a happily-ever-after has not faded in fourteen years.
Which means I'll continue to be enchanted at being a part of the magic. I hope to be here for a long, long time.
