I'm working on a story right now where the hero has to react to a horribly tense/hurtful situation and you know what? I could totally imagine him being an ass…but I can't seem to write it down!
I've been accused of having heroes in my books that are a little too perfect, and yeah, I can see that. I like my guys to be understanding and giving. And idiots piss me off. 😉
But even my real life hero makes me mad at times before he apologizes and gets it right. So…
Do you mind heroes who are wrong at times? Jump to conclusions and then find out the truth? Does it comes down to groveling enough to redeem them?
What do you think?
Nowadays there is lot of unforeseen circumstance which force folk to take remedies. You can order medicines directly your office. In these latter days the stock you can find in online pharmacy is actually high. Some medications are as a rule used to treat many types of bacteria, such as tonsillitis and infections of the throat. Other ones are used to treat diabetes. Cialis is a remedy used to treat divers afflictions. What do you have to know about cialis order online? Presently many families search for the exact keyword ordering cialis online on the Internet. Perhaps you already read something about it. Having erectile disfunction can beyond doubt complicate romance. What can cause erectile disfunction? A row of psychological issues can produce erectile disfunction. What should you discuss with a physician before taking Cialis? Any medication may cause dangerous side effects. Sometimes side effects can be actually dangerous. Talk to your pharmacist about the proper disposal of your medicine.
It depends on the level of stupid involved. A bit of a misunderstanding is okay. Faults are okay. I just hate it when either party does something which in my opinion means there is no going back. A bit of conflict can make for a great story.
I’m okay with a hero having to learn from doing something the wrong way. Heroes don’t have to be perfect but they do need to be able to own up to their own mistakes. I actually think it’s better to have the hero make an occasional mistake because it shows he’s still human.
We all make mistakes. I appreciate a romance where the characters are not perfect, because no one is….and even though it is fiction I like stories that “feel” true to life. It’s what I like about contemporary stories. So I say go for it. Make him an ass, have him jump to conclusions. As long as he gets it right by the end that’s what matters most!
I agree…mistakes are fine as long as it’s cleared up in some way… and then when it is cleared up they can have make-up sex:)
I just read Skin Game by Ava Gray and there was misunderstanding on both sides– she managed to let it go on JUST long enough–if it had went on for another few pages I might have thrown the book across the room. LOL
I think a little groveling does them good. We all make mistakes and have to suck it up and admit them (even grovel a little ourselves from time to time – very little groveling), but I agree the level of stupid plays a part and it can’t go on and on.
I have enjoyed books where the hero jumps to conclusions and has to deal with his mistakes later on… it adds a bit more to the story! Good Luck with your hero! Have a wonderful weekend!
Do you mind heroes who are wrong at times? No
Jump to conclusions and then find out the truth? No
Does it comes down to groveling enough to redeem them? No, groveling isn’t always the answer.
What do you think? I like heroes who are human. And humans sometimes jump to conclusions. What redeems the hero, for me, is when there is growth brought about by the mistake. When forgiveness is genuinely sought. When the heorine has to really decide if he is worthy of her.
Good luck with your perfect heroes!
Love you guys! Yeah, it’s important to be human, right?
I agree with all of the previous posters. I like my heroes to be human too. 😀 Keep up the great work!
