I debated what to do about this post. There's been a terrible tragedy in the world, and I don't want to ignore that fact. But I also know we (I) need to have ordinary, everyday things to keep me busy and keep my mind off the horror.
So I'm continuing with the 12 days, and I hope somewhere in focusing on these activities you'll find some peace.

Ready? This holiday season,
Give your body a break.
Yes, yes I did go there. Because it’s not only the season of potlucks, office parties, family dinners and too much chocolate—and yes, there is such a thing as TOO much chocolate— it’s the season of full days with all kinds of have to do NOW activities.
Maybe I’m the only one, but it seems often my exercising gets dropped off the urgent list and my healthy eating habits also get dropped. Double whammy- ick.
But it’s not possible to do it all, so find at least one thing you WILL and WON’T do this season. Like: I WILL make sure I at least get some walking in every day. If that means parking at the far end of the shopping mall, hey, at least you’ve added a few steps to the day. Or how about: I WON’T have more than one treat per day.
Going cold turkey isn’t the idea. Have some fun, but come post-holidays, I know I’m always happier if I’ve not thrown my hands in the air and simply gone hog wild.

I will go for an hour long walk at least 3 times in the week of Christmas. And maybe even on one 11 kilometers long walk if it’s not too rainy

I did! I love long walks. It is not only healthy it takes your mind off things as well.
I will give myself a anti stress break. Where i don’t think about anything that i need to be doing. Either go for a walk lay down and take a nap or just watch something funny on TV

Yes. Last night I ended up sending a Wolfie book to a friend–she just needed something light and fluffy to focus on.

What a sweet thing to do. I know sometimes i need a fluffy nice easy read too. A lot lately. I always have a rough December. No idea why. Just happens that way every year. lol I am always happy to see January 1st.

I will go for a walk everyday, and I won’t eat as many goodies at work. I will take healthy snacks with me to work so I am not as tempted.
Having some healthy choices is huge. Good for you!
I will not keep soda in the house. I’ll only drink it if I’m eating out.
I do two brisk fifteen minute walks daily (to and from the bus stop) no matter the weather. I have started walking ‘laps’ around the halls at the office to add to what I’ve been doing. And I have passed on the goodies at the office parties, cutting back on all my temptations-and very little chocolate.
I will take a stress break each day. I won’t try to be Martha Stewart and take on impossible baking and decorating goals.
I WILL start doing my water aerobics again once my doc says it’s ok.
I WILL NOT overstuff myself this year with candy and food ingeneral. I have been careful when I go to the store to stay away from the sweets and try to only buy food we need for dinner that week.

I will make time for my family.
Unfortunately I have been eating way too many holiday treats, but I will be more mindful to take opportunities to exercise!
I WILL take my dog for an extra walk for 15 minutes every day regardless of weather. I WILL NOT eat more than 2 cookies a day! 😉
