Three years running now I've hosted this event, and I love being able to do it again. If some of the posts sounds familiar, they are. Why fix something that wasn’t broken.
In the spirit of the holidays, I want to give something back. To you, my readers, but also to others.
Here’s the deal. Every day for the next 12 days, I’m going to challenge you to ‘give’. Not necessarily financially, because, yeah, I know that’s tough at times. But we really are fortunate to enjoy many things. 2012 has been an amazing year for me, with challenges but also rewards. I want to finish it off right, and I encourage you to join me.
There will be a few gifts up for grabs along the way but the BIG gift is this: $100 donated to the charity of your choice. At the end of the 12 days time I’ll randomly pick 5 commenters from this thread and their suggested organization will get $100. If you want to add a link to your organization in the comments, please feel free to do that.
In order to qualify for the $100 donation, you don’t have to meet the challenges for the 12 coming days– those are strictly for fun and encouragement, although I hope you do join in and share some love. To be entered, simply add your name to this comment list along with the name of the organization you would like the money to go to if you are one of the five selected. Basically consider this me asking you for suggestions for great places to support.
This is an international opportunity- I don’t care where you live (if it’s legal for you to participate yada yada yada…) as long as I can somehow support the organization you suggest.
I hope you will join me in this celebration of giving.
And come back tomorrow for the first challenge.
Nowadays there is lot of unforeseen circumstance which force men to take remedies. You can order medicines directly your office. In these latter days the stock you can find in online pharmacy is actually high. Some medications are as a rule used to treat many types of bacteria, such as tonsillitis and infections of the throat. Other ones are used to treat diabetes. Cialis is a remedy used to treat divers afflictions. What do you have to know about cialis order online? Presently many families search for the exact keyword ordering cialis online on the Internet. Perhaps you already read something about it. Having erectile dysfunction can beyond doubt complicate romance. What can cause erectile malfunction? A row of psychological issues can produce erectile dysfunction. What should you discuss with a physician before taking Cialis? Any treatment may cause dangerous side effects. Sometimes side effects can be actually dangerous. Talk to your pharmacist about the proper disposal of your medicine.
Please enter me! My charity would be the Kodiak Animal Shelter. It’s the only animal shelter on the island I live on and it’s been a no-kill shelter for years now. Because it’s no-kill they run into overcrowding issues and right now they’re working on getting new “cat condos” that will make cleaning easier and reduce stress on the cats.
Dorothy Herring – Birthright of Topeka
I’d like to propose ‘Het Berenbos’. A shelter for abused bears.
Locks Of Love
Both of my daughters grew their hair past the 10″ suggestion so they could have it cut and donate it for Locks of Love for Kids with Cancer…my kids are 7 and 4
Wow what a wonderful contest for the holidays!!! I suggest Worldwide Wildlife Fund! You can adopt an beautiful animal that needs our help!
This is a great idea. I love a challenge and this is a good one.
I love that you do this Viv!! Big hugs. I would love to submit Project Linus (http://www.projectlinus.org) for consideration. They are a great charity. 🙂
Awesome Vivian! You have a big heart and this is a great idea!
I would like to see the $100 if i am chosen to Huron County Project Safe Place for abused women or the Huron County Baby Pantry.
Thanks Vivian

Love your challenge. Will be a good project to work through with my homeschooled son.

The Pink Daisy Project

They help young women that are dealing with breast cancer. Help with housecleaning, grocery store gift cards, little things that can make a big difference for a struggling family.
I love that you do this.
This year I am picking Endometriosis Association Canada.
Happy Holidays Vivian!
Loved this last year! So nice to see you continuing such a truly wonderful thing. My choice this year is for HALO animal rescue.
http://halorescue.org/
😀
My choice is Doctors Without Borders. http://www.msf.org/
My suggestion is 911RUFF, a tiny no-kill shelter in FL filled with senior dogs. After the oil spill, their donations dried up. 911ruff.org
My suggestion is kinda selfish I think. I think you should donate to my school’s Relay for Life team. This way you can help in both research to cure cancer, research to prevent cancer and help fund aide to those in the trenches battling cancer.
This is wonderful, Viv! Glad to see you’re bringing back the wonderful days of giving. 🙂
What I’d choose is charity: water. In fact, I’ve got a current “Social Media for Social Good” campaign where I’m asking the romance community to give a little, if they can, to help bring sustainable clean water to people in the world who need it.
And… I hope the html works/that I did it right… You can see the amazing generosity of people who have already given.
It’s so cool that you do this:) My pick is http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/
Merry Christmas!
What a lovely way to many the holidays meaningful! My favorite charity is the Lost Dog and Stray Cat Foundation. Findlay, my “stray cat”, came from a volunteer with their organization. He’s now a very loved member of our family!
At this time of year, so many people are going without basic needs. If I am chosen , I’d like to help the St. Louis Area Food Bank, so that families can get some much needed food.

Emergency Food Network in Pierce County WA
For the last 6 years, my charity of choice has been Autism Speaks because no other organization has raised awareness for autism like they have. But my priorities changed last month when I realized Banks County Middle School band has music stands held together with duct tape and the teacher donated every instrument he owns, including the trumpet he’s had since 6th grade, to the department so children whose parents can’t afford it can still learn to play. He is giving underprivileged kids in a rural area the gift of music on less than a shoe string budget and he’s making a difference in their lives.
Ronald McDonald House. They help families who have sick children.
This is an awesome thing to do. My charity would be American Kidney Fund. Being the mother of two children with Kidney problems, I appreciate that such places exist.
Mine would be the Dumb Friends League or another Animal Shelter.
Thanks!
What a great way to spread some holiday cheer. My charity would be the Ronald McDonald House in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Oh oh I’ll play, and I’ll tell hubby he has to as well. Picking one charity is difficult I’m always torn between the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Help for Heroes. I think I will go for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance this time.
The Colorado House Rabbit Society. They taken in rabbits year round. Many of the rabbits need vet care and socialization training. Eventually they are fostered and adopted. But CHRS always needs help with food, heating, and medical bills for the bunnies in their care.
This year I’d like the chance to give back to the kids. We have a local CASA organization that is always in needs of funds to continue. https://secure.iescentral.com/casa_amarillo/
CSA helps advocate for children and give them a voice after they have been abused or neglected.

Operation Blessing International would be my charity of choice, but if I could, I would choose to send it to those in Connecticut to help support those that are recovering from the horrible tragedy.
Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. It’s dear to my heart bcuz my 13yr old daughter has type1 diabetes.
So many worthy causes–a couple possibilities:
Operation Homefront, which helps families of those deployed:

I personally also like the work that Partners International does, especially with women and children. Plus they have a cool Harvest of Hope catalog which is very fun for our kids to go through, especially as we’re smack in the giving season.

Shared Housing Center. They help Homeless Senior Citizens, a population often forgotten about by others.
