Thursday Things

Enroute to publishing:

Oct 30. Received 2nd edits to complete. There’s not nearly as many comments/page and I’m feeling happy with the results. Now I have to decide if I’m going to try to get them all done in the next two days prior to Nanowrimo starting or just do them slowly.

Nahhh, it’s not a decision. Nano is for fun, so if I start later or go slower, I will. I thought I might attempt a double Nano this year, one story for me, one for my daughter. That plan is up in the air.

Because I’m doing all of this for fun and if it’s not fun, I’m not going there. I have the official edits on Wolf Signs and I’m still working through revisions/edits on Rocky Mountain heat getting it ready to submit.

Those have to take priority. As much as I like to get obsessive and attempt something like getting a ms submitted once a month, I will take the time to not only have fun but do a good job.

In the end, it’ll be worth it.

SOOOOOOO…….

What else have I learned? My sweetheart of a writer/reader friend from down under, Jess Dee, gave me some excellent feedback on the cowboys. I think I’m guilty of trying to show not tell so much that I’m forgetting that I NEED to tell what the hero/heroine’s motivation is. Where their heads and hearts are at.

So I’m trying to add more of that to the story.

AND

The official blurb for Wolf Signs is done! Plus I know the publication date. Heart pounding excitment!!

———–

Robyn Maxwell doesn’t care that her brother has to cancel out on their backcountry ski trip. She can do it alone. The fact she’s deaf doesn’t make her survival skills any weaker. The chance to get away from it all and relax in the Yukon wilderness is just what she’s been craving.

Meeting wilderness guide Keil at the cabin starts cravings of another kind. Keil’s one hot hunk of ripped, tasty male. Now she has to deal with raging hormones as well as strange questions about wolves and mates and challenges to the death.

Keil was trying for a nice reflective retreat before challenging for the Alpha position of his Alaskan pack. He wasn’t planning on meeting the woman destined to be his mate, or finding out she’s not aware she has the genes of a wolf.

Between dealing with his accident-prone younger brother, a deaf mate with an attitude and an impending duel to the death, his week—and his bed—is suddenly full.

Far from the relaxing getaway any of them had in mind…
